SUSTAINABLE FASHION
Contribute to the development of circular & sustainable fashion, choose preloved fashion!
Fashion is one of the most polluting industries in the world, accounting for 10% of global carbon emissions, 20% of industrial wastewater, 24% of insecticides, and 11% of pesticides used. It releases around half a million tons of synthetic microfibers into the ocean annually.
The fact is that we have been consuming more, cheaper and faster than ever, having a terrible impact on the planet.
The average consumer now buys 60% more items of clothing than in 2000, but each garment is kept for half as long as consumers discard items more quickly.
These buying habits contribute to the 39 million tons of post-consumer textile waste that is generated (at a minimum) worldwide each year – primarily in the form of garments.
Of all discarded clothing, 57% is sent to landfill and 25% is incinerated, 10% is recycled and only 8% is re-used as second-hand clothing!

Sustainable fashion isn’t just limited to buying from conscious brands, it’s also about learning to extend the life of the things you own.
Shopping second hand is the perfect way to fulfill the wish for something new, without incurring more waste – and the process of looking in your own closet to decide what you want to swap/sell also helps bring insight into the things you want to keep and wear.
